A modern haven in the middle of nowhere. Just 30 minutes away from Palm Springs, in the empty surroundings of Mojave desert, Marc Atlan found the right spot to build up, along with architects from Oller & Pejic, what would have become “The Black Desert House”. Unlike most homes, The Black Desert House was not designed to be inhabited, but to be shared. The designers call it a "trading house", meaning that the three bedrooms of the house can be rented by advertising, photo or video production companies. The minimalist design, straight lines, sharp angles, the black painted walls in The Black Desert House make of it a very modern house which is in striking opposition to the wilderness and wild landscape that surrounds it.
"Perched on a hill, at the base of prehistoric boulders, the Black Desert House is a unique minimalist hideaway. Through the high windows you can admire 70 miles of untouched desert landscape - a panorama of shadows, colors and lights in continuous changing."
The house consists of three bedrooms, a kitchen, a terrace, a courtyard and a pool.
